Join Aid on the Hill (AOTH) and the USAID Alumni Association (UAA) for a member-only discussion of the report "What Does America Want from Its Foreign Assistance Program?: Strategic Options and Policy-Leader Priorities in a Time of Peer Competition and Partisan Discord," by Laura Pavlovic, Ramsey Day and Jim Kunder.
During a time of hot debate about the future of development, the report centers on how U.S. foreign assistance can be reformulated around higher-level questions that look at strategic models to meet the current global context. The research draws on interviews with a bipartisan group of more than 30 leading experts on U.S. foreign assistance. Jim and Laura will review their findings, discuss the models with high bipartisan agreement, and help us consider how our advocacy might advance the suggested Congressional actions.
About the Speakers:
Jim Kunder is a former deputy administrator at USAID. Currently consulting, Jim is a member of the AOTH Advisory Board, the Steering Committee of the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network and the UAA.
Laura Pavlovic is a former senior deputy assistant administrator at USAID. Currently the director of Programs for the International Senior Lawyers Project, Laura is a co-founder of Our USAID Community and a member of both the UAA and AOTH.
