Our audience
Aid on the Hill engages three audiences whose understanding and collaboration are essential to strengthening U.S. international assistance as a pillar of national leadership.
Policymakers and Congressional Staff
Our primary audience includes Members of Congress and their staff, particularly those serving on committees overseeing international assistance and international affairs. Aid on the Hill provides trusted, nonpartisan resources that help policymakers understand how U.S. development programs advance American interests. Through briefings, explainers, and direct engagement, we aim to rebuild informed, bipartisan support for effective foreign aid.
Policy and Development Professionals
We work closely with the community of former USAID and current development professionals, implementing partners, academics, and policy experts who bring firsthand experience and analytical depth to our work. Aid on the Hill convenes these professionals as contributors and collaborators--drawing on their expertise to inform our educational materials, shape our advocacy priorities, and ensure our products reflect the realities of development practice and policy implementation.
The Engaged Public
We also reach citizens and civic organizations who care about America's role in the world but lack accessible, accurate information about how foreign assistance works. Aid on the Hill provides them with educational tools and training to understand the purpose, process, and impact of U.S. international assistance. By equipping an informed public to engage constructively with their representatives, we help build a broader constituency for sustained U.S. global leadership.
